SunGard Availability Services is taking part in the Crisis Christmas Card challenge for the fifth year running. ‘With a little help we can all be someone special’ is the theme of this year’s campaign, whereby Crisis, the national charity for single homeless people invokes the talents of its clients in a series of musical and artistic season’s greetings cards.
Martin Hall, corporate partnerships executive for Crisis said, “I’d just like to say another big thank you for supporting this year’s Christmas card. SunGard’s continued support and generosity will mean we can continue to deliver our services this Christmas when we’re expecting increased demand for our services, so much so that we’ll be opening ten centres this year across London as opposed to the nine we had in 2011.”
The Crisis Christmas Card is the charity’s most important corporate fundraiser. It has ambitions to raise £600,000 this year to support the UK’s most disadvantaged homeless people by helping to provide food, companionship and access to vital services for them. And with a 23% rise in rough sleeping alone, all donations make a real difference both at Christmas and beyond.
Managing Director UK & Ireland & Executive Vice President Europe, Keith Tilley concludes, “We are delighted to put our Christmas card budget to good use by supporting Crisis once again. At a time of year when most of us are looking forward to enjoying time with friends and family, it continues to be true that many people are cold, lonely and particularly vulnerable over the festive period. In this economic climate where life is tougher all round, we are pleased to continue to do what we can to help and wish Crisis and those who depend on it all the very best.”
